This Graphic Target Imaging detector is the top of the line in the Garrett series with a significant amount of easy-to-use features that make it a well-rounded, multi-purpose metal detector. But what exactly is this imaging Garrett boasts of? It’s the technology that lets your detector measure the size of the treasure you’ve swept it across and report that information to you. It also tells you the depth of the target and what it probably is! This allows you to dig up only what you know is worth working for!
A PROformance 9.5” Imaging submersible searchcoil at the end of the GTI 1500 is state-of-the-art. Both larger and smaller coils are available in the accessories area for this metal detector, but the 9.5” is a great place to start. This searchcoil is versatile and deep-seeking, making it effective for any type of detecting. Because it is waterproof, you can submerge this coil into water without any adverse affect on the operation of the detector – this is perfect for hunting in the shallow waters of beaches and rivers as well as on land!
The GTI 1500 was designed specifically for coin, ring, and relic hunters and it has many of the same advanced features of the GTI 2500 with a slightly lower price tag. Perhaps most impressive about the GTI 1500 is Garrett’s exclusive, onboard PowerMaster Circuitry DSPT (digital signal processing) chip that allows both you and the detector to discriminate more accurately with your imaging searchcoil.
The two modes available on the GTI 1500 are “Motion” to detect coins, jewelry, and relics. This mode allows you to customize the discrimination modes with visual target ID. The second mode is “Imaging (Pinpoint)” and allows you to detect precise targets with non-motion, visual target imaging. Of course Garrett provides you the option of customizing the audio tone ID, frequency, volume, and sensitivity. It certainly sounds like a lot to handle, and this Garrett product promises you’ll never grow bored. It has an external speaker as well as a headphone jack and comes with a hip mount battery pack whose status will be continuously available on the LCD screen.

I enjoy searching for coins and jewelry. The GTI 1500 metal detector is ready to use out of the box. After reading the owners manual and after practicing in my backyard for few hours, I knew this detector was going to be the best I ever used.
This detector is light and easy to use. The treasure imaging is invaluable and easy to read. I have used other brands of detectors, but none compare to the GTI 1500. The day after I bought this detector I went to the beach and started my treasure hunting career. To my amazement I found my first ring which was valued at $980.00 dollars. I also found $8.37 worth of coins. The detector paid for itself that very first day.
Since that day in 2001, I have found 21 rings and thousands of coins. Five of the rings have been returned to their rightful owners with sweet rewards. I truly can say that I am the PROUD owner of a GTI 1500. I just love to use the treasure imaging when I hear that coin alert bell tone.
The touchpad is very easy to use for Sensitivity (depth), pinpointing, accept/reject, power turn on /off, target id guide, search aids such as salt elimination when hunting at the beach, back-light, this function lights the control panel if hunting at night. This detector has it ALL.
I truly recommend the GTI 1500 to ALL. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you will enjoy it thoroughly.

I purchased this Garrett 1500 to replace an older model Garrett (Deep Seeker) that I liked quite well.
The 1500 is easy to adjust and switch between discrimination modes.
It is also good for finding deeper objects than the Bounty Hunter detector I have. I am still getting better acquainted with my 1500, I have only used it a few times this past summer. The 14" search coil should be great for relic hunting which I play to do this coming summer. So far I have found mostly coins and a couple of rings (kids). This coming summer I also want to get the 4" search coil to try and find some nuggets in Nevada. I find the depth meter on the 1500 to quite accurate; all my finds appeared to right about at the depth the meter indicated.
This detector appears to more sensitive than my older Garrett because I have found coins right next to trash which my other detector failed to detect. Another good feature is I can hook the battery pack on my belt making the detector easier to user of an extended period of time. Then I also like the fact the detector gives you a pretty good feeling for the size of the object you are looking at. This especially effective when coin shooting or looking for jewelry.
Since I am a repeat Garret user I would certainly recommend this detector to friends and other users. The larger search coil is really good for the deeper objects, I have found coins over 12" deep.

My first metal detector was a Garrett Ground Hog a few years ago. It was a good metal detector, very simple to use, and lots of fun. I found many coins and a few rings and misc jewelry. I like to hunt yards, parks, fair grounds, or just about any place there has been people. I am retired now, and have much more time to hunt, so time for a new metal detector.
My new Garrett GTI 1500 came while it was cold and the ground was frozen. I played indoors with it by watching the accompanied video, and a little reading of the manual, and with coins on the floor. The metal detector was very easy to learn the controls, and the basic functions.
When the weather broke, and the ground thawed, I started hunting in my front yard. As soon as I turned it on I got a quarter hit three inches down on the LCD screen. I dug it up and it was exactly that, a clad quarter three inches down. I found a dime next six inches down, and I was amazed on how easy this was. I love the pinpointing feature on this detector, it is very accurate, and kept my digging to a minimum. I played around with the pinpointing in my house during the cold weather, but it was easy to learn.
I ended up finding forty two coins the first day, four of which were silver. I found them as fast as I could dig them. The weight and balance of this detector is just right for me, as I have used it for hours without fatigue. I could mount the battery pack on my hip to if I needed to, but haven't.
I have found many coins and rings so for, two rings are valued more than what I paid for my metal detector, and my wife loves that. With five search modes, accurate pinpointing, nice easy to read backlit LCD screen, coin bell tone alert, 9.5" imaging search coil, and many more features, this machine is in my opinion the best you can buy for the money for coin and jewelry hunting, and I would highly recommend it, and of course give it five stars.

I always was intrigued and wondered what some of those people found that I saw wandering around at times with a metal detector. Didn’t think I’d find time for another hobby up until now.
As a “newbie”, I wanted to make sure to get a detector that was easy to use and understand as well as easy on the wallet but not cheap either. So I did as much research as possible thanks to the internet and a few people familiar with the gadgets and I believe I’ve made the right decision in buying my Garrett GTI 1500.
The DVD instructions made it even easier to learn how to operate, and I couldn't wait to get out and put it to use. I live near the beach so it was an easy place to start and I immediately started finding coins and have also found my first ring in my first week, but find the more I use it the easier it is becoming to use.
The color graphic indicator is fantastic. Its target imaging and accuracy are very good as well as determining depths, various metal types and sizes. I can't believe how light it is as well. The ability to customize the various functions were also a big reason for buying it as well as the easy way to return them back to factory settings tells me the unit was designed for ease.
Though I've only just begun, I believe this unit will bring me greater pleasure and rewards to come. I have joined a local club here and it makes it even more fun and looks forward to showing off my new Garrett GTI 1500 and all stuff I've already found.

Did you know the right metal detector could save a dog's life? It's true! For 30 years, I was an animal control officer and encountered many rabid animals in my career. So it was no surprise when I got a call from a veterinarian about a rabid dog at a local ranch. Just the week before, I bought a Garrett GTI 1500 and decided to take it with me on patrol so I could try it out on my lunch breaks. I didn't have much experience with it when the rabid dog call came in, but I had read the owner's manual from cover-to-cover. I'm glad the GTI 1500 is user friendly because it came in handy that day.
The dog was chained when I got to the ranch because his behavior closely resembled that of an animal suffering from hydrophobia or rabies. He paced nervously, salivated profusely, and definitely looked like he was angry at the whole world. Still, there was something about him that made me question the veterinarian's diagnosis. I stepped closer to the dog and he moved away, that's not the typical reaction of a rabid animal.
After asking a few questions of the owner and the vet, I nosed around the barn and saw some fishing gear. I asked the owner if the dog spent much time in the barn before he became sick. The owner nodded, and that gave me an idea. I got my Garrett out of the patrol truck and headed for the dog.
Turning on the Garrett GTI 1500 and setting the discrimination low, I passed the coil near the animal's stomach. Almost immediately I got a visual ID of something round, and the metal ID meter went off the chart. Those indicators, plus a loud tone in my headphones, confirmed what I suspected - the dog had ingested a large fish line lead weight. He wasn't rabid! Lead poisoning can present symptoms similar to rabies, but the outcome can be much better for the animal.
Thanks to the reliability of my Garrett detector, the real problem was discovered and surgery prevailed over euthanasia. Today the dog is doing well, and his owner is happy to have his beloved pet beside him again. This pleasant outcome was provided by my Garrett GTI 1500 and its quick target identification. Garrett GTI 1500 is the metal detector that truly saved a dog's life.

I purchased the Garrett GTI 1500 last April (it being my first detector), and I was surprised at the ability of this machine to find coins.
Before buying, I did my research and found most detectors in this price range perform well, but the "imaging" finally sold me. I honestly can't think of anything about this machine I don't like. It works as advertised. I am completely satisfied.
Thanks Kellyco and many thanks to Garrett.

Hi fellow detectorist and detectorist to be I live in rural Nova Scotia Canada and have been detecting for over 20 years.
I started out like most with a bottom of the line detector and gradually worked my way threw many machines of all brands.
My latest purchase was a GTI-1500 Garrett. I mainly hunt fields, woods, and beaches we have a lot of history here and with a little research and a bit of luck and hard work it is easy to find coins and artifacts dating to the late 1600 and all of the 1700 and 1800 hundreds.
I have made many nice finds over the years but by far my best but not most expensive find was made with the GTI-1500 in 2007 an 1880 s 5 dollar gold coin a quarter eagle. To sum this would be a mega find but I have been hunting for over 20 years and this was my first and only gold coin a gold coin is on every detectorist want list and some never find one others find many.
I like my GTI-1500 the only thing i think they should have done to make it better is to have a true all metal mode its depth and target size feature are an asset.

I recently bought this Garrett detector and it only took me a few minutes to set the detector up. This metal detector is very easy to use, but it had difficulty finding items. After telling me there was 0.25 cents $1.00 - 6" in the ground after digging and digging, I found nothing many times and I found this detector had trouble locating things?
I called Garret and they claim that there was metal in the ground at one time that had dissolved?
Pinpointing items was very difficult. The pinpointing pad has now got stuck product has been sent back for repair?
This is my first metal detector and I am not very happy with everything about it and would not recommend it to anyone wanting to have some fun and find different treasures.

This is a wonderful detector with many options to choose from. I have wanted a metal detector ever since I was a young child when I used to see people at the beach scanning all around and some had there detectors in the water. I would strike up a conversation with them when I had the opportunity and I would ask a lot of questions about all of the interesting things that they had found in the past and how long that they had been involved in metal detecting. Also, I asked them about the most unusual thing that they had found and that if they had any regrets about ever buying a detector. Everyone that I had ever asked told me that they loved using them and how great of a hobby that metal detecting is. I also try to get some pointers and suggestions about detecting. I recently saved up enough money to get myself one so I am really new at using one. It takes a lot of practice to get good at using one and they are so many types to choose from in a great variety of price ranges. I didn’t want to get a really cheap one and waist a lot of time digging up trash so I did a lot of extensive research and read a lot of reviews to help me find the best choice for the price. So far, the Garrett GTI 1500 seems to do everything that it was advertised to do and Garrett has a descent reputation based on my experience. So far, I would recommend this detector for the beginner and the pro. This is built rugged and will handle normal wear and tear with no problem. I am having good luck with it so far and am very happy with my decision on purchasing this metal detector.
We recommend the following accessories for this product:
