Minelab Sovereign GT Pro 2 Coil Special

Minelab Sovereign GT Pro 2 Coil Special

The Minelab Sovereign GT comes with a 10” submersible, “Slimline” search coil that comes from the “Tornado” series. It features its own on-board transmit circuitry, which adds power and depth to your detector. This allows you to pinpoint your targets easily because you can cover more ground with each sweep, with almost zero overlapping!

Possibly the most impressive aspect of the Sovereign GT is its 17 frequencies. This is possible thanks to the BBS (Broad Band Spectrum) technology. Find thin gold nuggets and delicate jewelry other detectors miss, while ignoring hot rocks, salt, terra cotta and overall changing ground conditions.

The Sovereign GT’s 17 frequencies literally provide an “Iron Mask” feature that allows you to reject iron, yet still detect good, valuable treasure scattered among it. The range of the Sovereign GT transmission is from 1.5 kHz to 25.5 kHz (done in 1.5 kHz increments). All 17 frequencies are transmitted together at one time, operating simultaneously with multiple tone responses.

Thankfully these multiple, simultaneous frequencies are easy-to-use and understand. Just like a single frequency detector, you turn on the Sovereign GT, set the controls between operating modes, and start your treasure hunt. Also featured on the Sovereign GT is the new “Accu-Track Digital Ground Balance” with selectable “Fixed” or “Automatic” tracking options – giving you more depth with each step. The Sovereign GT will do the majority of the work by interpreting target signals, removing ground mineralization interference and analyzing the remaining signal. The only sound you’ll hear is the one indicating you’ve found treasure!

At work one day one of the men was showing the rest of the crew a silver quarter he had found in his backyard that morning using a metal detector. He told us he had found the coin under an old oak tree in a place where he had looked many times before. The coin wasn't in very good condition but it brought back childhood memories of the times when I would accidentally get one of these handsome coins in change. In my option there will never be a coin as beautiful as the standing liberty. The walking liberty half comes close but the quarter is my favorite.

Within a week of seeing that coin I went out and bought my own detector. There was a Minelab dealer in the area so that's what I bought with know regrets even throw it was a little expensive. It has a guage and different sounds to tell you what kind of coin or metal your detector is picking up but my tired old eyes are giving out on me so I have to rely on the only since that that still works good my hearing. Minelab made there detector to work on seventeen different frequencies each frequency has a slightly different tone and every coin has it's own frequency. With practice you can determine the denomination of coins before you dig them up.

That first summer I thought that I had made a big mistake the only thing I was digging up was pull tabs and a lot of other junk I was running my detector on zero discrimination if it was down there I wanted to find it. After clearing out my back yard of junk I was still waiting to find my first silver coin. The weatherman said it was going to rain but where I was the sun was shining with my batteries fully charged I went out back for one more look. There had to be coins in this old yard my wife had found a mercury dime in her flower bed.

An hour into my hunt I noticed that the clouds were starting to gather I may not have been one with my detector yet but I know you shouldn't be outside holding onto a metal pole when a storm is coming. It was one of those gully washers that only last a few minutes. The grass dried off quickly and as soon as it did I went back outside to continue my endless search. Before winter set in that year I was finding coins whenever I went out. Practice makes perfect. To date my best find is a large silver locket with a emerald of some kind. I had it that is until my wife claimed it

From time to time you may read about someone that claims to have found two hundred or more coins in one outing I suppose it's possible but I would have to see it to believe. In all the years that I have been metal detecting I have only found two places that hadn't been searched before. For some reason an old city park had been missed by other people or maybe it was because their detector couldn't cut through the red clay but my detector could see right through it that old park ended up giving me tthree barber quarters, barber dimes, mercury dimes and a walking liberty half. That was a life time ago when metal detecting was just a fad in the same area there was a boy scout camp as soon as Isaw it I remembered that when I was a boy and in the boy scouts we had to take money to each meeting to pay our dues I also remembered that there were times when my money had mysteriously disappeared. This camp had a large flat yard within ten minutes I found four mercury dimes for the next week I hit the yard hard. By weeks end I had found forty silver dimes five washington quarters and a lot of pennies. In all there was well over two hundred coins but I didn't find them in one day. I also found two silver bent boy scout rings. The detector's have more than paid for themselves over the years. When I was working I kept up with the latest technology but now that I have retired I can't afford to buy a new detector every year. I couldn't begin to tell you how many coins and rings I have found through the years. I found a largesilver locket one time that my wife immediately claimed!

I bought my first metal detector back in 1980. I saw an ad for one with sears. I just tried it out, but back then they did not work as well as the new ones. The only thing that I found with that model was metals (nails, rusty iron, cans, and misc. stuff).

I am now in the process of purchasing a new one. I have called Kellyco a few times for the information that I need to make and intelligent decision. Your representatives are very knowledgeable and don't mind people asking question so that they get the right metal detector for their needs. I hope to get one winning this contest, but if not I will be getting one for my birthday this year.

My wife loves to take pictures so she can take her pictures and I can use the new metal detector I purchase. She can take the pictures of my finding and send them to your co.

I feel that this would be a great way for us to get some exercise, and also help find things from the past. If I find something like a high school ring with initials in it, I will try to give to the person who owned it.

It is a great way to enjoy traveling around this country by finding something’s that people thought were lost for ever. When I start this new adventure, you can be sure the first find will be set up on display for all to see.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the contest and good luck to all who enter.

Sovereign GT, wow where to start!?

I've been detecting for almost 40 years and owned most every make and model detector made. I must say the GT is the best Sovereign ever made and I've owned all of them!

I use it mostly on the salt beaches as it works so well on salty sand where other detectors just chatter. I've found enough gold rings in less than a year to pay for TWO GT's. At 1st it had a little learning curve but after about 6 times out, I knew I had a winner! It is a deep seeker that I've found times at 15inches and that is very very deep! I don't use the Digital meter as I dig by the tones that are very easy to learn. Some people like the meter, just whatever you like will work. The null on Iron is the best thing since peanut butter, you know just what to dig, and not to dig. And the Iron mask feature is way more advanced than other detectors. To be able to find gold under iron is awesome!

I've found gold and diamond rings on a beach that was a WWII training site, littered with brass shell casings and the GT just walked right through it like a champ.

When I first used the Sovereign GT detector it took some getting use to pinpointing because of the Double D coil. Once I got the hang of it the detector really shined.

I have been using this detector for two years now, mostly as a relic detector. This detector handles hot soil very well. I have found minie bullets in hot soil as deep as 10 inches with the standard coil. I also like the way that it maintains ground balance with little effort.

On a recent trip to a civil war battlefield I was able to get a fair number of bullets and I was able to pick out a nice shoulder scale among a bunch of rusty iron. All of this was in some pretty hot soil.

Coins are a breeze in the average yard. The multi tones of the detector signals sounds very pleasant to the ear, almost musical. I have added many Silver coins to my bag with this detector. I think that with a little practice, the average a coin hunter can mostly cherry pick the coins only.

After talking with a beach hunter that uses this detector I am looking forward to going detecting at the beach.

All told this is a good all around detector that really shines in tough conditions. It gets more depth than any other detector I have used in the past. I would recommend this detector to anyone who wants a general purpose detector that still preforms well in difficult situations like relics or the beach.

I have just purchased my second metal detector from Kellyco. It is a Minelab Sovereign GT.

I have used it several times on the beaches in southeast Florida and it is the most impressive detector I could ever ask for. I have detected in the same area as other detectorists and I am finding coins and jewelry that the other detectors are not picking up. Some of the coins are encrusted with barnacles and some are decaying, my point is, this detector is picking up deeper and better than most detectors will. I have specifically bought this to search for Spanish silver and I am sure that when the nor'easters blow I will find what I am looking for.

The detector's weight is very manageable for long periods of time. There are so many different options to use to screen out junk and unwanted materials that you can actually enjoy detecting without wasting most of your time digging trash. The detector once set up, stays in tune so there are very minimal adjustments needed to keep you in the scope of a good search. For the reasonable price of this detector, for the novice or the professional detectorist, this is the best investment anyone could make too thoroughly enjoy the hobby of treasure hunting.

The only regret is that I wasted about 6 years with a detector that did not do the job as good as the Sovereign and I could only wonder how much treasure I have walked over, and I will never know what I have missed out on.

It was tricky at first to tune it, but like any other detector, you just have to get out and use it. It took me about three hours to finely tune this machine. I like the iron mask for the beach, and the large search coil. It gives you great depth, and sensitivity. It is so sensitive that I can't turn it the whole way up due to the fact that it will pick up the metal in my boots. WOW! I personally enjoy relic hunting, but I do some occasional beach hunting also. So far, I have found a pillar dollar, numerous metal objects, railroad spikes that are over 3 ft tall, and a couple of nice old coins. I have been fortunate enough to be able to search some places with some historical significance, with the land owner’s permission of course. I love this machine, and would recommend it to someone with at least 2 years of experience.

I am an avid CW relic collector and digger and have had my Minelab Sovereign GT for a year now.

I have to say that this machine can be as easy as any to use. The ability of this machine to find small objects at great depths is unbelievable. I usually hunt in disc with a mask on, and choose which iron signals to dig by the bounce back (after it rejects them.)

For me to find 22 bullets +6" is a norm. I have located bullets as far down as +14" and picked them up the entire width of the stock coil. I have only run into one issue with my GT and that is electric interference. I hunt at almost the verge of falsing about 5/8 power usually and anywhere near a cable or telephone line; I can hardly hunt.

It also hates cell phones! All in all, I love my machine and probably won't ever even get the ID meter. Something about the mystery of the find makes it fun for me. Well, I got to go get a new shovel. Mine is worn out.

The area I live is located in deep south Texas, were there is a high salt content. After hours upon weeks searching for relics using other detectors, I broke down and purchased the Sovereign GT.

It has been the best decision that I ever made regarding metal detecting. My first time out with it I was digging civil war bullets.

With a previous detector after a short while I would be exhausted, not the Sovereign; with it I can go for hours, I find that it is well balanced and comfortable to use. The only modification I did to the machine was remove the grip handle and replace it with one that had a vclip, thus allowing me to mount the meter off the handle for a more comfortable view.

I have enjoyed many hours with this machine and although I have not found that elusive gold coin yet, but my finds have fell into a wide variety of categories ranging from a ton of what is its to jewelry, coins and relics. I recommend this machine to anyone that is serious about metal detecting and past the novice stage.

If you want to find treasure on the beach, you can't beat the Sovereign GT. With 17 frequencies, it beats any single frequency machine - hands down! The new feature, Iron Mask, makes it a lot easier digging for targets that count and not wasting precious time digging up iron and junk.

My husband has the older model, the Sovereign Elite, and he would always find more gold and silver than I could until I got the Sovereign GT. I just had to even the playing field! It's getting very competitive between us, which makes it a lot of fun. I always feel like I'm doing a ghost busters movie when we get ready to hunt at the beach. I take a back pack, a spare battery (which I have never had to use), plenty of water, sun tan lotion and rain gear just in case. You see, when I get started there is no going back!

I hunt the tides to the beginning and to the end. Ever since I purchased my sovereign GT, I have evened the playing field! I have found more silver, gold, and diamonds than ever before! Let the competition begin, I will never get a different machine because if it's not broke, leave it alone or something like that. Yes, I think out of seven machines I found the winner.

We recommend the following accessories for this product:

Carrybag

Cap

Hipmount Bag

RPG Headphones
